On behalf of everyone at Boreham Wood FC, as our historic and at times magical FA Cup run comes to an end after today’s defeat against Championship outfit Millwall, we would like to thank each and every one our supporters, sponsors, partners and friends for your messages of support and well wishes in the lead up to this historic fixture.

Unfortunately, despite ‘daring to dream’ we fell short against a talented Millwall side who ran out deserved winners, but this doesn’t take away from the journey the Club has been on this season in the face of adversity. Of course, we are disappointed that we haven’t been able to share much of our journey with you in the flesh by you being at the games, but it is your unwavering support despite this distance that has given us a burning desire to make the Wood Army, our wider fan base, the Club, our Town and our Community proud.

Rest assured as the vaccine gets rolled out, there will come a time we hope in the not too distant future, when we will be back together again at Meadow Park, cheering on the team in the hope that yet another chapter can be written in our 73-year journey.

The Club have really enjoyed the TV and media spotlight by getting to the 3rd Round of the FA Cup for the first time in our history. We’ve really enjoyed the winning and we must now be gracious in defeat, as such we wish Millwall, who were the better team on the day, good luck in the next round and for the remainder of the season.

For our ambitious little Football Club, we must harness the positives of the cup run, we must regroup, refocus and ensure our energy is quickly turned to Dover away on Tuesday evening, as we look to continue our fantastic League form and close the gap on the teams above us and those achievable play off places.

We Are The Wood!

OUR CLUB. OUR TOWN. OUR COMMUNITY.
