Boreham Wood FC are delighted to announce the contract extension of Jack Payne on a new deal that will see the midfielder remain at the LV BET Stadium Meadow Park until the end of the 2024/25 season, with an option to extend his stay for a further season.
Payne arrived at Meadow Park this summer from League Two Crawley Town and has made an instant impression on Luke Garrard and Wood Army faithful. Jack has been a mainstay in Wood’s midfield unit, not missing a single minute in all league and cup matches so far this campaign, scoring twice in the process.
Garrard was admittedly a long-term admirer of Payne’s before capturing his signature this summer and upon Jack putting pen to paper on an extended contact, he had this to say, “I’m really pleased to have signed Jack on a longer-term deal. I have enjoyed working with Payney; he has a real understanding of the game and has shown a level of performance to warrant an extension so soon after arriving here.
“This signing shows the project we have on going at the Football Club. Not only has Jack fully brought into the Club and the way we go about our work, but he is someone I fully trust in a key position, and he has real leadership qualities on the pitch. I look forward to working with Jack over the next few seasons as we continue to build as a Club both on and off the pitch.”
Upon signing his contract extension, Jack said, “I’m delighted to sign the extension and I want to thank the Club and the Gaffer for getting it done so quickly. I have loved every minute since joining in the summer, so I’m really happy to continue the journey with the Club which will hopefully bring success over the next few seasons.”
Jack, we are delighted you will still be calling Meadow Park home until the end of the 2024/25 season, at least!
