Form Guide

A 0-4 loss to Sutton United ended the Wood’s National League unbeaten run, which had dated back to September 23rd.

Two harsh first half penalties and a subsequent sending off left the Wood chasing the match.

Garrard and his team will be hoping to get back to winning ways on Saturday, with victory over Torquay United.

The frustrating defeat dropped the Wood out of the playoffs, one point behind seventh placed Dagenham & Redbridge.

Managed by 49-year-old Gary Owers, Torquay United currently sit in 23rd place, on 20 points.

Torquay United drew last time out, earning a 1-1 draw away to Eastleigh.

From the Dugout – Luke Garrard

“I think that the reaction needs to come, we need to come together and make sure that we are all on board, with a good build-up to Torquay.

“We know what they are about, they have changed managers recently, and they have got them playing in a certain way and they have picked up points.

“They have gone to Eastleigh and they have gone and drawn, I know they got a sending off, but that is an achievement.

“They have got to travel all the way up to us on Saturday and I know there will be a reaction from the boys.

“I know what they are about as a group, I like this group and they like me in terms of what I offer them and they like the way that we go about our business.

“We owe the fans a performance, I apologized to a few in the bar, because I felt that for a Boxing Day, they pay their hard-earned cash, they leave their families to come and watch a game of football and I feel that at no stage, did we offer up anything in terms of continuing their support.

“I am hoping that they come back Saturday and we will give them a performance, I know of that.”
