Wood In Cup Action This Tuesday!

The Wood Army have another trip across Hertfordshire to look forward to this Tuesday, when we descend upon Broadhall Way to face Second Division Stevenage in the Quarter Final of the Hertfordshire Senior Challenge Cup.

Wood are the holders of the Trophy and according to The Gaffer , “ We are in no mood to give it up!” Ian reminded me of the night up at Letchworth last April, when we defeated Bishops Stortford after extra times and penalties. “ I really enjoyed that night and it gave the whole club a lift to end the season with some silverware.”

So far this season Wood have overcome Hertford Town 1-4 , whilst Stevenage ran out 1-3 winners at Colney Heath, before beating Bishops Stortford 2-0 at home in the last round.

Stevenage are currently enjoying their best run of form to date this season. Recording four wins and a draw over Christmas they are now just one point outside the play off spots. However their Cup form has not been so formidable, going out of the F A Cup at the first hurdle in a replay on the famous Astroturf at Ryman Premier League Maidstone United.

With no League match scheduled for The Wood this coming Saturday and the following Saturday’s League fixture dependant upon Farnborough losing their F A Trophy replay, this will be the last chance for some time to cheer on the lads to victory.

On behalf of Ian and the boys we would like to thank you all for your fantastic support last Saturday at St Albans. You really do make a difference!

We hope to see as many of you there as possible!
