The Wood welcome Oxford City to the Mangata Pay UK Stadium Meadow Park tomorrow. Due to our postponed game against Oldham Athletic, the Hoops will be the first side that we face for the second time this season in the National League. Luke Garrard and his squad will be looking to right the wrongs back in August where the Wood succumbed to a 4-0 away defeat. Since then, there have been a lot of changes to both squads and now three points separate the sides with the Wood sitting in 18^th and Oxford City sitting in 22^nd.

Oxford City’s last win was on the 18^th November against Ebbsfleet where they won 4-0 away from home the goals came from Kpekwa, McEachran, Sanderson and McQueen. However, since then they haven’t won a game.

From there they suffered a 2-0 loss away to York City after two first half goals. From there they welcomed Kidderminster Harriers to to the RAW Charging Stadium and after leading 2-0 thanks to goals from Burley and Sanderson, Kidderminster fought back and came away with a 2-2 draw.

In their last two fixtures Oxford City have had two losses in a row, losing 4-1 to an inform Maidenhead Utd side and then losing 1-0 to Chelmsford in the FA Trophy.

ONES TO WATCH

Josh Parker. Josh joined the Hoops in September 2022, and joined with plenty of Football League experience having last been at Burton Albion. Previously have spells at Gillingham, Queens Park Rangers and also Oxford United before joining the Hoops In total Parker has 121 appearances in League One, 27 in League Two and 8 appearances in the Championship. He’s also had plenty of international experience having made 36 appearances for Antigua and Barbuda. He played a crucial role in City’s promotion as he netted 22 goals in 41 games in the 2022/23 season. This season the experienced forward is leading the line for the Hoops once again as their top scorer in the league, he has netted 9 league goals in 20 appearances.
