Form Guide
Luke Garrard admitted that he was left frustrated on Saturday, despite an impressive 0-0 away draw with Hartlepool United.
The Wood dominated the match for large periods, and had a number of chances to go ahead, only being denied by the Pools’ determined defending.
It was the side’s fourth clean sheet in five matches, with their defence continuing to look solid.
The Wood six in sixth place in the National League, but have a game in-hand on Wrexham, Aldershot Town, Tranmere Rovers and Sutton United, four of the five teams above them.
Managed by 61-year-old Alan Devonshire, Maidenhead are currently 13th in the table on 47-points.
The Magpies will have a point to prove, having lost 7-1 on Saturday to Gateshead.
From the Dugout – Luke Garrard
“I feel that we will need to be a little bit more clinical, but if we are ruthless in front of goal and we play like we did on Saturday, then I think that we can cause Maidenhead problems.
“I know that they have gone and got dealt with by Gateshead, but I don’t think that helps us in any shape or form, because they will need a reaction.
“I can imagine that it is going to be a very tight affair on Tuesday, but we will recover, we will go again Monday, we will regroup, and the aim is to get maximum points.
“We will have to ask some of them to recover, and others will probably get an opportunity to stake a claim.
“That is what I want to get, I want to get that competition where everyone is fighting for a shirt. And, when given an opportunity, they don’t give it up easily.”
