Boreham Wood vs Larkhall Athletic // Emirates FA Cup 4RQ // Meadow Park // Saturday 28th September 2024 // 15:00 KO

The Wood are back in action at Meadow Park to face Athletic Larkhall in the FA Cup third qualifying round, on the back of a 6-0 thumping win against Welling United in the National League South last weekend. The Wood will be soaring high in confidence going into this game unbeaten in 3 games (all comps) and after a high scoring game last match the players will be looking to follow that with a strong outing here to proceed to the next round of the cup.

A 1-0 loss to Yate Town earlier this week saw Athletic Larkhall miss crucial points for the start of this season, however their last Fa Cup game saw them overcome Frome town with a 1-0 win, leaving them to face us now with a chance to proceed to the fa cup main first round. Larkhall currently sit 17th in their respective league (Non League Division One).

Larkhall Athletic: W-W-L-W-L

Ollie Price’s side have won 3 of their last 5 matches, their most recent win being the FA Cup fixture of the last qualifying round.

The Larks first hosted their game in Bath against Westbury United, in a match where the sides both went at each other in high tempo with the Larks eventually emerging victories 3-2 winners. On the Road, Larkhall then visited Barnstaple which was a game to remember for the visitors as they followed up their previous league win with a 2-1 victory taking them to the next round of the fa cup. The Larks then still on the road lost. 3-2 in a close game going into stoppage time, where the comeback fight was a little too late.

Things did improve in Larkhall’s next game, as a trip to Somerset saw them back to their winning ways once again in the FA cup as 1-0 winners on the day. The Larks were quite defensive for most of the game as Frome Town had most of the possession and best chances in the game, but The Larks managed to dig deep and find a singular goal late on to see them through in the cup. The Larks latest game back in action in regular league football did end in disappointment as back on the road again they lost to a well drilled and discipled Yate town earlier this week losing 1-0 a game to move past quickly for them.
