Team News

The Wood have no fresh injury concerns going into the fixture.

Angelo Balanta took part in training this week and hopes to return to the starting eleven against Halifax Town.

With Balanta returning, Luke Garrard hopes to have a fully fit squad to choose from come Saturday.

Form Guide

Having dominated the match, Bruno Andrade netted a 78th minute winner against Eastleigh on Tuesday night, pushing the Wood up to 10th place.

It was the Wood’s first win in three matches, while they also secured a third clean sheet of the campaign, and they will be looking for much of the same.

The Saturday previous, a last-minute equaliser at Gateshead had saved the Wood, after a battling display saw them draw 1-1.

Halifax sit directly above Luke Garrard’s side in the table, in ninth position, and they are in strong form with three wins in their previous five matches.

Managed by Billy Heath, a victory could see the side climb as high as fourth in the table, if results go their way.

From the Dugout – Luke Garrard

“We’ve done our work on Halifax and we have taken a look at the reports and the analysis and we have identified what shape and what way we think that they will want to play.

“But, you saw on Tuesday evening that if we go about our ideas, and our patterns and pitches, then we can cause problems.

“I think that they have had a great season and I think that Billy Heath has done a fantastic job. Obviously, they have returned to the level this year, and they are a massive club. For them to get relegated the year before last was huge, but they bounced back superbly.

“We are only below them by a point and they come here wanting to get in the playoffs, as do we. I think that they have got a bit of quality in wide areas and a bit of quality through the middle in Tom Denton, especially when they play to his strengths. And if we can nullify that, that will go some way in trying to get a result in our favour.

“It is non-league day as well, so come and give us a go and if we deliver like we have done in the majority of home games, then I think that you will be back a second time.”
