Easter Programme!

This Easter Monday is the last chance to see The Wood in action at Meadow Park before the end of the season. We entertain Staines Town , whom at the time of writing still have a mathematical chance of reaching the play offs. However they would need to win their last three matches and rely on others slipping up to achieve that!

Our reverse tie at Wheatsheaf Park back in August was a bizarre affair. We were missing two defenders, then lost two more to injury. To add to our woes James Russell was accredited with two of Town’s three goals with the ball going in off his body after hitting the wood work! It was a disappointing show, losing 3-1 whilst playing against ten men for more than half of the game. Ian Allinson will be looking for revenge, heading into our Herts Senior Cup Final against Bishops Stortford two days later.

Prior to that game we are on the road again this Saturday when we travel to the home of Woking FC to meet Hayes and Yeading United. Expect fireworks with the U’s just three points from safety with three games remaining. Their latest defeat at the hands of Gosport Borough let the F A Trophy finalists climb above us one place to 13th in the current table, ensuring their safety. Our Kudos Oyenuga will be keen to impress against his former climb as his loan spell from Dundee United draws to a close. Much like the Staines game we will be keen to wipe the memories of our 1-3 defeat at home back in August, to make this bank holiday weekend a far more memorable one than the late August break last year.

Wood are playing some attractive football as the season draws to a close and would relish your support!
