Team News

Mark Ricketts continued his return from injury against Dagenham & Redbridge in the original leg of the tie.

Angelo Balanta also made a return to action against the Daggers.

Form Guide

Dagenham & Redbridge came back from a two-goal deficit against Boreham Wood to earn an FA Cup replay.

The Wood had taken a two-goal advantage thanks to Josh Umerah and Justin Shaibu.

However, injury time goals from Tomi Adeloye and Luke Pennell dragged them back into the game at Meadow Park.

Prior to the tie, the Wood had beaten Maidenhead United 3-1 at home, with Keiran Murtagh, Joshua Umerah and Justin Shaibu all scoring.

Managed by 65-year-old Peter Taylor, Dagenham & Redbridge have struggled so far this season, and currently sit in 22nd place in the National League.

The draw with the Wood means that they are now without a win in seven matches.

Amongst the Daggers team are a number of former Wood players, with Alex Davey, Ben Goodliffe, Ollie Harfield and Ben Nunn all previously playing for the club.

One to Watch – Matt Robinson

The Dagenham midfielder played a key role in the midfield on Saturday and will once again look to influence proceedings in the replay.

The Daggers’ team has changed to varying degrees so far this season, as Taylor attempts to improve their fortunes out on the pitch.

One mainstay of the side though is midfielder Matt Robinson, who alongside Will Wright, is one of just two outfield players to have featured in all 16 matches so far.

Robinson, who began his career in the academy at Leicester City, played a vital role in Luton Town’s Conference Premier title success of 2013/14, before going on to feature for them in the Football League.

He cemented his position in the Daggers’ midfield last season, with 32 league appearances, having joined them in May 2016. Robinson has also had spells at Kidderminster Harriers, Grimsby Town and Woking.

From the Dugout – Luke Garrard

“We have gone 2-0 up and drawn 2-2, but that is done, it is parked. It is irrelevant that we have drawn a game of football, it is what it is.

“We have now got a focus that we are 90 minutes and possibly extra time and penalties away from getting into the next round.

“I need that squad that went out today, to go out on Tuesday and apply themselves like they did for 91 minutes and 20 seconds.

“We need to make sure that we are on job come Tuesday evening and that we have a focused mindset on Monday, to go and finish the job up at their place.

“I thought Gozie Ugwu for the second game running was immense, I thought that his back to goal game was fantastic. I can’t question anyone’s effort.”
