After a busy league schedule which sees the Wood sitting comfortably in mid-table, we now turn our attentions to the FA CUP.

Our opponents Hendon are no strangers to Meadow Park having played against the Wood numerous times in the Isthmian league days.

Hendon have now secured themselves a ground of their own in Kingsbury after being nomads for several years. Since being evicted from Claremont Road in 2008 after 81 years they ground shared with Northwood, Staines Town, Wembley and Harrow Borough.

In 2013/14 season Hendon narrowly missed out on promotion to the Conference South, after loosing in the play-off final to Margate.

Hendon who have struggled in the league this season with just two wins from eleven games, have done well to reach this stage of the competition after overcoming Cheshunt 5-2, Dulwich Hamlet 2-0 and AFC Rushden & Diamonds 3-0.

Gary McCann who has been in the Hendon hotseat for over 10 years will have his players up for the game. Luke Garrard will certainly not underestimate them and will be want to avoid being one of the upsets of the round.

Dave Stephens is the gaffers only long term absentee, following the injury sustained on the opening day of the season.

The Wood will be looking to continue their good form at this stage of the competition after reaching the first round proper for three of the past four seasons.

Its the FA Cup and so we urge all Wood supporters where ever you are to come down and cheer the side to what we hope will be a place in the first round proper.
