Wood entertain a Farnborough side in free fall in this the first of three straight home fixtures this coming Saturday. After the fantastic display at Bishops Stortford where Wood were deserved winners, Wood manager Ian Allinson will be looking to put together a winning run to climb away from the relegation zone.

Our play last Saturday especially in the first half was some of the best seen this season, belying our current league position.

Earlier in the season at Farnborough it was one of the Wood’s poorer performances of the season where poor ball retention and a lack of composure in front of goal cost the Wood. Scott Donnelly was the star of the show on the day netting a fantastic free kick from a full 30 yards out.

The visitors are having a reasonable campaign albeit with some unpredictable results. Back in early November they put four past Weston Super Mare before losing by five against Concord Rangers. In their last 5 games they have lost 4 and drew 1, conceding 17 goals and scoring 3.

Wood’s form at home is something that needs improving with the last league win coming way back in September with a 2-0 victory over Gosport Borough. The Management and players are very keen to kick start 2014 with 3 points.  A win against Farnborough would propel us level on points with the Hampshire club and a foundation to start climbing the table.

Wood fans are urged to come down to Meadow Park Saturday, and with your vocal backing we can reproduce the home form of last year.

Come on the WOOD!!!!
