Wood travel to The Camrose this Saturday as their attentions return to the Skrill South. Our opponents like ourselves have had a poor run of results of late. After a flying start to the season in August in which they recorded four wins and a draw, including a 2-0 victory over current League leaders Eastleigh, their form has dipped somewhat.

With just one win in their last six matches including a home defeat to Weston Super Mare in the F A Cup, now is possibly the right time to play them! However we have picked up just one point more than our opponents in the last six league matches, leaving us four points adrift of them in 20th spot in the league.

Ian Allinson at least finally has his full defensive line up to choose from , a statistic that, “ Has hampered us since the start of the season. There is no mistaking what we have been missing as a squad.”

One of those players is Callum Reynolds who played his first competitive game of the season last Saturday. Callum played a huge part in the 0-2 victory against the Ryman League leaders and is our only player to have featured for Town in the past. He played against us back in April 2011 when we lost 1-0.

On the current Town personnel is a old Wood favourite in Wes Daly, who has now played over 100 games for the Hampshire side.

Games are always tight between the two sides. Last season we drew 1-1 at home, before recording a 2-3 victory on the road, in what was a memorable match in part for the appalling weather. It rained incessantly throughout the whole game on an already heavy pitch and it was to both sides credit that the game finished.

Let us hope we can rein in the points this Saturday! Come on the Wood!

Basingstoke Town v Boreham Wood Saturday October 19th, 3pm.
