Form Guide

The Under 18s won last time out, defeating St Margaretsbury 3-0 in the BH Cup

The scoring was opened by one half of the Sahnoun twins, Abdel, with the winger meeting Sammy Mount’s cross and volleying it home.

Bailey Stevenson and Charlie Wickham also got themselves onto the scoresheet for Mawer’s side, to seal an emphatic cup win.

Managed by 37-year-old Dan Senda, Barnet’s under 18s beat Cambridge United 3-1 last time out, in the EFL Youth Alliance league, thanks to goals from Joseph Taylor, Rio Connell and Antonis Vasilou.

Prior to that, the Young Bees had beaten Gillingham 3-2 in the league.

One to Watch – Renell McKenzie-Lyle

One of two promising young ‘keepers in the Barnet academy, Renell McKenzie-Lyle has already been involved in the first team set up.

The young stopper was on the bench for the Bees’ first team in the matches against Swindon Town and AFC Wimbledon.

A young goalkeeper with a promising future, McKenzie-Lyle will be a solid presence in-between the sticks for Senda’s side.

From the Dugout – Cameron Mawer

“I think that it is a really exciting draw. The game will take place on Tuesday night at 7pm and I urge everyone to come down and support the boys, because it will help them massively.

“We met Barnet a couple of years ago and that was in the first round of the competition, when they were in the Football League.

“It is a really exciting draw and I am really looking forward to it. I am not going to lie though, it is a toughie and out of all the teams in the competition, it is probably the hardest draw that we could have gotten.

“Their academy is still category three status and they will be very, very good. I have done my homework on them already, so I know a bit about them.

“It is going to be a lovely experience for the boys to go and play at The Hive and play under the lights there. So, hopefully we can do the club proud and see what happens.”
