Boreham Wood v Aldershot Town
Saturday 23 September 2023, 3.00pm

Mangata Pay UK Stadium, Vanarama National League

After an impressive second half display against Rochdale under the lights on Tuesday, the Wood will be looking to carry on that performance into tomorrow’s fixture as we welcome Aldershot Town to the Mangata Pay UK Stadium.

Aldershot Town currently sit in 17th having picked up eleven points in their first ten games. Their top goal scorer is new summer signing, Josh Stokes who has had an impressive start for the Shots scoring five goals since arriving from AFC Sudbury. They are arriving to the Mangata Pay UK Stadium Meadow Park on the back of a 2-1 defeat to Barnet.

The Wood currently sit level on points with the Shots, however, sit above them in the table thanks to goal difference.

Aldershot Town – L-L-W-D-L

Tuesday, the Shots had a difficult test on Tuesday as they travelled to the Hive to take on Barnet. The Bees took the lead on the stroke of half time thanks to a goal from Danny Collinge, their lead was doubled on the 49th minute thanks to Nicke Kabamba. The Shots did manage to get a goal back thanks to Lorent Tollaj, however they couldn’t find an equaliser before the full time whistle.

Prior to Barnet, they held Gateshead to a 1-1 draw at home and were 2-0 winners at AFC Fylde on the 9th of September.

Harfield is a player that began his career at AFC Bournemouth before going out on loan in the National League which included a stint with Boreham Wood during the 2017/18 season where he was on the bench for our play-off final against Tranmere Rovers. From there he has gained a lot of Vanarama National League experience making over 150 appearances in the division with Dagenham and Redbridge, Weymouth and now Aldershot Town. He was recently rewarded with a new contract at the Shots that will keep him at the club until 2025. The full back has a dangerous delivery from wide areas.
