Boreham Wood Football Club Chairman Danny Hunter is absolutely delighted to announce the continuation of our sports education programme with our main sponsors Barnet and Southgate College.

The partnership between Barnet and Southgate College and the football club has been running for several years and the partnership has created one of the largest and most successful diverse sports and education programmes in the country.

Since the forming of this unique partnership, both the College and the Football Club have provided thousands of teenagers with both the educational and footballing opportunities that we feel, they would struggle to find anywhere else in the country.

Whether it’s getting one of the many talented footballers like Lee Hodson to Glasgow Rangers or Pelly Ruddock to Luton Town and into the pro ranks, our partnership prides itself on the care that everyone in our education sports structure gets.

This is clearly shown by our 93% average retention rates that we have produced over the last 10 years and by the 94% course success rates that have been achieved in CYQ, BTEC’s, Construction and within our A Level curriculums.

Those success numbers will always give our students the opportunity to head off to University, into the workplace or onto full scholarships in both England and America with greater confidence and with a new found self-esteem.

This year, two of our students were chosen to represent England Colleges once again, which followed five England College students last year. These accolades are another hugely prestigious honour for both our PASE Academy, our football club, the student himself and of course our education partners Barnet and Southgate College.

All this while retaining and becoming National Cup Champions yet again, just shows what can be achieved when the correct Attitude, Discipline and Desire is brought to the table.

Boreham Wood FC’s Chairman Danny Hunter said: “Our record for over a decade is second to none, our education partners are second to none and to have people who believe in what we’re doing makes things so worthwhile and rewarding.

Tracey McIntosh, Barnet and Southgate Director of Employer Partnerships, said: “We have worked with Danny and his team for a long time and between us we achieve fantastic results and success stories. The continuation of our partnership is an easy decision to make and we look forward to that continuing for many years to come.”

On the continued partnership, Boreham Wood’s Commercial Manager Mandee Morris said: “We continue to see this amazing partnership flourish every year, not just at the football club but also within the local community.

“Our Sports and Education programme is completely unique and it continues to grow each year. Last year, over 650 students received a first-class education from the college and a superbly structured football programme from us, complete with our incredible facilities, and a new coaching and medical team that we believe is second to none. So, the opportunities for our young student/scholars to progress really are endless.

“On the pitch as principal sponsors, Barnet and Southgate’s brand will once again be seen across the world, seen nationally and are now recognised up and down the country for its excellence by both potential students and potential scholars.”
