Job Description

Boreham Wood Football Club is seeking an enthusiastic, hardworking and committed individual to work within the busy Medical Department during the 2018/2019 Season. Boreham Wood run the largest and most successful Football Education Scheme for 16-19 year olds in the United Kingdom and after securing their place for a fourth season the Senior Squad will play in the National League having finished the highest they have in their history.

This is a great opportunity for a Sports Therapy/Sports Rehabilitation/Physiotherapist graduate to expand on their current knowledge and develop new skills within a growing Medical Department of a National League Club.

The successful candidate will be expected to (but not limited to) help with the day-to-day running of the Academy Medical Department, assist the Medical Team with First Team Match Day Medical Care, Pre and Post Match Massage and Soft Tissue Therapy and the implementation of Rehabilitation Programs to our PASE Academy players.

They will also be expected to construct and deliver Fitness and Well Being programmes to our new Borehm Wood PASE initiative for this season. This is a new programme designed to improve a person both physically and mentally and will include Personal Training sessions, mental health workshops, cookery classes and individualised programmes.

This role will allow the Therapist to practically enhance their skills during training sessions, drop in Injury Clinics and Matches. There will also be an opportunity to work with the First Team Squads during the season. The successful candidate will be expected to work a long side the Coaching and Medical Team’s at the club and report to the Head of Medical weekly.

This position is on a full – time basis and will include evening and weekends.


Essential

  • Current First Aid Certificate.
  • Degree in Sports Therapy, Sports Rehabilitation or Physiotherapy with a minimum 1 year experience in a relevant setting
  • Personnel Training Qualification with experience of 1 year minimum with clients
  • Good time management and communication skills.
  • Full UK Driving license.
  • Insurance with relevant provider.
