Boreham Wood FC are delighted to announce that our highly rated Academy Player Alex Morgan, who happens to be the cousin of former Wood player and fans favourite Greg Morgan, has today signed first team forms.
Alex who has come through the clubs academy system, has impressed in both the Under 18’s and reserves this season and has been training with the first team for a number of months.
Having watched his development closely over the last 18 months, Wood Gaffer Luke Garrard decided his performances warranted a first team deal. Alex will wear squad number 25 and he will be in Luke Garrards squad for today’s trip to Torquay United.
Wood manager Luke Garrard said “Alex is a young player that we like a lot and he’s one I’d like to develop gradually. He’s got all the attributes to progress in the game he’s big, strong, has pace, scores goals and has a trick up his sleeve. But he’s very young and he must improve a bit, especially when we’re out of possession. That said I think our fans are going to like him, as he’s one of our own and this I hope is the start of something special, for both the boy and the club”.
JAMIE GOES BACK
We can also announce that Jamie Lucas has returned to his parent club Bristol Rovers over the weekend. We would like to thank Jamie for his massive contribution to Boreham Wood FC, notably the 7 crucial goals he scored last season, which were crucial in the club maintaining our National League status.
