A late winter and an early Easter gives the run in a strange feeling this Season.    With more snow and rain predicted in certain areas this weekend Wood Boss Ian Allinson remains firmly focused on the job in hand.

“We are preparing for two must win games away at Eastbourne Borough this Saturday and then at Billericay Town the following Tuesday. Two wins would see us accelerate away from the chasing pack and put us in great shape going into the Easter programme. However we will take absolutely nothing for granted as we all know it does not really matter where the teams are sitting in this League, all games are winnable for both sides competing.    For example we have dropped five points against bottom side Truro City and four against Staines Town, who are in a relegation battle, yet we are sitting sixth in the table.    That is a massive achievement for this Club at this stage in the Season.    We have ten games to go and our fate is in our hands.”

With Weston-super-Mare edging Wood out of the top five midweek, the Wood Boss emphasised it has had no effect at the Club. “We have a two game advantage over them.    Our point against Eastleigh was massive. Put that into perspective. Had we have lost there but won at Dorchester Town we would be one point better off, but have had Eastleigh breathing down our necks.”

Wood face Tommy Widdrington’s Sports, this weekend. who have just won their first game in five, a convincing 2 – 1 defeat of Hayes & Yeading United.    Borough proved a stern test for Ian Allinson’s side earlier this Season at Meadow Park, with Wood edging a close contest winning 2 – 1.    With both sides needing to post points for different reasons it is yet another “must win game” for both sides.

Recent signing, Jerome Anderson, is set to be included in the Squad that travels to East Sussex.
