Boreham Wood Football Club are delighted to announce that Luton Town and an Arsenal XI will travel to Meadow Park for high-profile pre-season friendlies in July.

Luton Town will bring their first team to face the Wood on Saturday, July 22 at 3pm and this will be followed by a strong Arsenal XI on Thursday, July 27 at 7.30pm.

Both fixtures will take place on the club’s new DESSO Pitch, which should be completed by mid-July.

Commenting on the fixtures, Chairman Danny Hunter said: “Arsenal have been incredibly supportive and will arrive at Meadow Park after returning from their pre-season trips to Australia and China.

“They will officially open the new million pound DESSO pitch and our new floodlight system on the evening of Thursday, 27th July.”

The exciting new facility builds have been well documented by the club and include a main pitch irrigation system, a main pitch drainage system and a full size 2star UEFA approved training pitch.

The training pitch will sit alongside the car park and comes complete with a brand new concourse walkway and an interior/exterior fencing system set within the club grounds.

There will also be a 500 lux LED floodlight system installed and a set of Premiership standard dugouts.

Hunter finished: “We are confident and expect to have a completed facility handed to us by the end of July.

“Boreham Wood Football Club would like to thank both pro clubs for agreeing to come to Meadow Park.”

Season ticket holders will be granted half-price entry for the Arsenal match, further ticket information will follow shortly. Follow @BOREHAM_WOODFC on Twitter for regular updates
