Following the success of the club’s visit to Hertswood Secondary School, with the FA Cup, Boreham Wood FC will now be running a community day in partnership with the school.

Please note; all Hertswood students are invited to attend a free football coaching session at Meadow Park, prior to the fixture against AFC Fylde, Saturday, December 9.

The coaching session will run between 1-2pm prior to Saturday’s match at home to AFC Fylde.

All participating students will receive a FREE ticket to the National League fixture. The offer is open to all Hertswood Secondary School students.

Registration for the sessions starts at 12.30 and will be run by the club’s talented PASE Academy coaching staff.

Make sure that you do not miss this excellent opportunity to sharpen your footballing skills on the Wood’s newly laid 5G Astro turf and then take in the game.

The sessions are perfect for all abilities; our professional coaches will teach the participants brand new skills and help them to perfect the more basic techniques of passing, ball control and shooting.

The sessions will then end with small sided games, so that the participants can put into practise, what they have learned.

Community Manager Micky Engwell said: “Having worked previously at Hertswood school for the last 10/11 seasons, I feel that the connection between the club and the school should be good and we should be feeding off one another.

“We recently went into the school with the FA Cup and I feel that the vibes and the interest that the boys gave us, has been great.

“So, we are looking to offer this community day for the students of Hertswood to hopefully make sure that the bonds and foundation to progress things are even better.

“As well as encouraging some of the boys and girls to come in and watch the first team play, which I feel they will want to.

“We need to make sure that these links are stronger and what we can offer on the day will be an hours coaching from myself, Charles Nichol and some of the other top class coaches here at Boreham Wood.

“Hopefully we can get a good attendance of boys and girls and we can deliver a successful session.

“We are this town’s only senior local club and I know from personal experience that there is plenty of interest, so hopefully we can interest some more local people to come in and watch our first team play.”
