Boreham Wood FC’s Community team are delighted to announce the return of grassroots football to Meadow Park this May bank holiday weekend with our eagerly anticipated annual youth tournaments.
In line with onsite safety protocols, this year we have had to limit our age categories to under 8’s, under 9’s, under 10’s and under 11’s. Please note these age categories are as of the 2020/21 season (this season.) The tournaments will be played across the May bank holiday weekend on Sunday 30th and Monday 31st May. Please see tournament dates and times below: –
UNDER 8’S
Date: Sunday 30th May 2021
Registration: 8.00am, Start: 9.00am
UNDER 9’S
Date: Sunday 30th May 2021
Registration: 1.00pm, Start: 2.00pm
UNDER 10’S
Date: Monday 31st May 2021
Registration: 8.00am, Start: 9.00am
UNDER 11’S
Date: Monday 31st May 2021
Registration: 1.00pm, Start: 2.00pm
All tournaments will be played in a 7-a-side format, with a maximum of 10 players allowed in each squad. Our Meadow Park home will host our annual youth tournaments, with group stage games played on our 4G astro turf pitches and within our Stadium, before all knockout games are played on our Stadium pitch.
This is an amazing opportunity for youth players to play on possibly the best pitch outside of the Premier League, with our Meadow Park Stadium pitch an exact replica of Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium pitch, save for under soil heating.
As we come out of this COVID-19 pandemic nightmare, it is understandable that coaches/parents/guardians will be concerned about safety and the onsite precautions here at Meadow Park before signing up. Please be rest assured that the Club and our Community team have adopted a safety-first approach throughout this pandemic, which has meant not a single COVID-19 transmission has been attributed to onsite interaction at Meadow Park.
Further, our Community team will be on hand to ensure all necessary precautions will be in place to maintain safety whilst onsite; whether that be temperature checks on arrival, all goals and equipment sanitised inbetween games, designated areas for teams to “set up camp” for the day socially distant, hand sanitisers located across the facility etc.
Entry prices start at £50, but if you enter multiple teams from the same Club discounts can be offered. Please note, due to COVID-19 and our onsite protocols there are limited spaces available in each age category so we stress that you book your team’s place as soon as possible to avoid missing out on this fantastic opportunity and occasion!
