Boreham Wood FC are delighted to announce that our charitable arm, the Boreham Wood Community Trust, which promotes coaching, active and healthy lifestyle locally, are again running their annual golf day after a 1-year hiatus due to COVID-19 on Wednesday 21st July 2021.

The golf day will again return to The Shire, London, a beautiful but challenging course located locally in Barnet. The Shire is one of London’s premium golf courses and is rated London’s number 1 golf experience. The course itself was designed by the late, great Seve Ballesteros, and is the only course in the UK designed by the 5-time major champion.

The iconic Spaniard designed the course to be a comprehensive test of golf with six par threes, six par fours, six par fives. No two consecutive holes of the same par, on either nine. Links holes, stadium-style Tour golf holes, and traditional British parkland holes, all immaculately presented.

The “Ballesteros Masters” Course has many unforgettable holes, often challenging you with a shot over water, and none more so than their iconic 18th – where the course is literally stamped with Seve’s initial with an S-shaped lake, the ultimate challenge on one of the country’s most demanding closing holes.

You can enter a team of 4 at £90.00 per person. This includes a bacon roll, tea and coffee upon arrival, a round of golf and two-course lunch.

In addition, on various holes there will be beat the pro, closest to the pin and hole in one challenges, giving participants an opportunity to win a plethora of prizes. Last time the hole in one challenge gave participants the opportunity to win a brand-new car, and our Commercial team has again worked wonders, given participants an opportunity to win a brand-new VW on the Shire’s hole 12! Do you fancy your chances of driving away in a brand-new car?

Our Commercial and Community teams are asking partners, sponsors and local businesses to support our Charity Golf Day by sponsoring a hole for just £100.

For just £100, your company will the following exposure: –

  • A3 sign on your designated hole, recognising your company as hole sponsor
  • Inclusion in our pre-and-post-event articles, recognising and thanking your company’s support
  • Inclusion in our event programme
  • Exposure on the Club’s social media channels; Twitter and Instagram

Following the round of golf, the Community Trust will be holding a raffle and auction whilst participants enjoy their two-course lunch. We ask that any local businesses or supporters of the Club donate prizes which could help raise further much-needed funds for our Community Trust.

In year’s past, we’ve been astonished by the generosity of our sponsors, partners, supporters and local businesses who have donated amazing raffle and auction prizes, whether that be a Wembley box, a round at the Belfry, signed shirts and balls etc.
