With six games completed dare we mention the League table!    We are currently sitting third, whilst our next opponents have put some decent results on the board thus far and are just three points behind The Wood.

Looking at the visitors form so far it has been a tough start fixture wise for Spencer Day’s side.    They have already played three of the current top four sides and have come through with some good results.    Wins against Bromley and Weston-super-Mare along with a tough point earned at Dover Athletic and another against second placed Dorchester Town earned the Boro’ their eight points.

Their visit to League leaders Salisbury City resulted in a narrow 1 – 0 defeat, whilst last Tuesday they can consider themselves hard done by in their 3 – 2 defeat at fourth placed Maidenhead United by all accounts.

A red card handed to Michal Steinke early on in the second half was a set back with Boro 2 – 1 down at the time.    It appears that the incident, which also led to a penalty from which the home side increased their lead was outside of the penalty area, which obviously leaves a bitter taste in the mouth.    Steinke is one of two Polish players signed by Day recently, along with Jacek Magdzinski.

With the  three match ban for our treble red card horror show In Cornwall kicking in after this game, I am sure the Squad will be fired up to do their upmost to continue our superb form so far this Season.

If the quality of football is anywhere as near as what was witnessed last Monday night it should be a cracking afternoon.

Boreham Wood v Farnborough, Saturday 8 September, Kick off 3pm.
