The Under 19s were confirmed as champions of the National League Alliance Division C on Wednesday afternoon with a devastating display against Chelmsford City. The Wood will now go on to play in the Champions of Champions Cup, which is against other regional league winners.

The Wood only required a point to be crowned champions but did it in style with a 11-1 demolition of Chelmsford City. Fresh from appearing for the First Team on Saturday Bradley Sach scored 7 and Frank Keita 3.

Wednesday evening saw the Wood reserves secure 2nd place in the Suburban League with a 5-2 victory over fellow National League rivals Woking. After finishing 4th last season this is a massive improvement from the reserves made up of boys from the academy all of whom are Under 19.

So after winning the National League Alliance Division C and finishing as runners-up in the Suburban League, the Wood youngsters will look to do the treble and win both the ECFA Cup and the National League final. The fixtures for both can be found below.

Cameron Mawer talked after “Winning the league is a fantastic achievement and the boys should be proud of what they have done,  its a tough league with over 140 teams taking part up and down the country, and to score 97 goals in 18 games is incredible,”

He added “After fighting on so many fronts this season we have utilised so many players from the academy, which is fantastic and we are seeing the benefits across the board to players progressing through our pathway”
