Boreham Wood Football Club are delighted to announce, that three of our talented Academy boys, joined up with the England Colleges squad for a training camp and training game this week.
Second years Ben Goodliffe and Sorba Thomas, who along with first year Fred Burbidge, will we hope get their first taste of international football, as they join a long line of BWFC players to represent England Schools and Colleges.
They join the likes of Jon Clements, Bradley Frazer, Ruddock Yala, Lee Close, Charlie Hunter and Maxwell Holland to name but a few. All have been a part of the BWFC/England College tradition, which has helped make our PASE Scheme one of the best and most successful sports education schemes in the country.
We will of course follow the boys and update you all on the website next week, on how the boys fared and got on.
Meanwhile our very strong Under 19s Academy side, have started their bid for another National College Cup success this week, as they went up against a fancied 10 Football Academy.
However our PASE Academy, even without our England trio, still proved far too strong for 10 Academy winning 5-1. Having won this prestigious Trophy on two previous occasions and been finalists on another two occasions. It is hoped that this is the start of another exciting Cup run, as its been a very positive start to the season for all our elite teams.
