Tomorrow evening (Tuesday) we travel back down the M3 to take on a Hampshire side in resurgent form of late. The Spitfires have amassed nineteen out of a possible twenty-four points to shoot up the table.    Their home form is awesome, having won eleven, drawn two and lost just two of their games to date.

Should they post a win against Wood they would then be level on points with us, albeit with a poorer goal difference.    Eastleigh, the Pre-Season title favourites have turned their poor start to the Season around, their opening fixture a 3 – 0 defeat at Meadow Park shocked everybody outside the Club, although in hindsight they were beaten by a side who has never been out of the top five all Season!

Slowly strengthening throughout the Season their latest addition is a real sit up and take notice signing.    Taken from League Football twenty-six year old Chris Zebrowski  joins from Cheltenham Town, where he had already played twenty-one games for the Second Division side this campaign. His previous Clubs include Bristol Rovers, Torquay United, Wycombe Wanderers, Millwall and Plymouth Argyle.    He is obviously seen as the springboard to get into the Play-offs, with little old Boreham Wood in fifth place seemingly the team in the way!

So, again, not much at stake here then!

Congratulations are due to two of our Squad, currently on Loan.    Lee Close bagged his first goal for Potters Bar Town on Saturday which proved to be the winner in a five goal thriller.    Lewis Toomey took just eleven minutes to open his account at Hitchin Town, going on to threaten the Frome Town defence all afternoon, albeit in a narrow 1 – 2 defeat.    According to Wood Boss Ian Allinson, “Lewis is highly regarded by us at the Club.    With all the forwards currently fit it is imperative Lewis remains in top condition as we close in on the business end of the Season.    He will be helping out Hitchin Town for a short time, which will benefit both Clubs.”

Eastleigh versus Boreham Wood, Tuesday 12 March, Kick Off: 7.45pm.

Silverlake Stadium, Ten Acres, Stoneham Lane, Eastleigh. SO50 9HT.
