Boreham Wood FC and the BW PASE Academy are delighted to announce that following trials over this Easter break, we achieved in excess of 300 prospective Academy players who showcased their talent at the Club.

Typically, the Academy would have held just a single trial day over the same period, however given the pandemic situation our Academy staff decided to spread our Easter trial across 5 days and 10 sessions, to ensure our trials were held in the safest environment possible.

In truth, the new trial format was a resounding success as it allowed players more playing time, whilst also allowing our coaches to talk more in depth about the Academy programme and to get a closer look at our Academy’s future stars of tomorrow.

Trial sessions were kicked off in the usual way, with BWFC Club Chairman and BW PASE Academy founder Danny Hunter, speaking with our Academy hopefuls about what the BW PASE Academy is all about, what it represents and what it can offer our scholars who wish to study onsite at our Meadow Park Stadium.

Every trialist got a tour and the chance to access our award winning million-pound DESSO grassmaster pitch, which is now suitably framed by an ever improving 4,000 capacity stadium. Shortly after the Chairman’s speech, our First Team Manager Luke Garrard, who is also Head of Football within our football structure here at Meadow Park, spoke passionately with trialists, while showcasing our Premier League standard home changing room, before our new Academy Head Coach Connor Smith concluded the tour of Meadow Park’s facilities, with a drop into our onsite rehabilitation and strength and conditioning gymnasium and medical centre…

Next up was the part of the day our Academy hopefuls came for, namely showing us what they can do on the football pitch… Our coaching team, including First Team professionals Danny Woodards, Tom Champion, David Stephens, Kane Smith, Femi Ilesanmi and Jamal Fyfield, ably assisted by existing BW PASE Academy students, who are hoping to be the next PASE Pro through the system just as the likes of Sorba Thomas, Iliman N’Diaye or Ben Goodliffe have done before them…

Lastly, before the trialists departed after a busy day, they all received a packed lunch from our catering team and an Academy prospectus to show to their parents, carers, guardians, loved ones and friends, just exactly what the BW PASE Academy can offer them, as understandably family members will play a big part in their decision making and we hope that involves the BW PASE Academy.

If you are 16-18 years old as of 31st August 2021 and have an interest in joining the UK’s number 1 sports and education Academy you can apply now by clicking the link below!
