Boreham Wood Football Club are absolutely delighted to announce that, following a successful negotiation, an extended deal with Barnet and Southgate College has been struck for a further three years and will now run until July 2020.

The partnership between Barnet and Southgate College and the football club has been running for many years and together they form one of the largest, and most successful, sports education academies in the country.

Over the years since the partnership began, both collaborators have provided thousands of teenagers, with both education and footballing opportunities. Opportunities that, we feel, they would struggle to have found anywhere else.

On the continued partnership, Boreham Wood football club’s commercial director Mandee Morris said: “Each year the partnership just seems to grow, the progressions is seen everywhere and the partnership has flourished.

“I am very grateful to the college principal David Byrne and his very hard-working team, for endorsing the great things going on at the club.

“I think that, like us, they feel the next three years could be our most exciting yet and to have somebody like Barnet and Southgate College as our main shirt sponsors is very reassuring going forward.”

Having seen the continued success of the partnership, Barnet and Southgate Principal David Byrne stated: “Barnet and Southgate College are thrilled to be working with Boreham Wood for another three years, on what is a truly special sports education programme for local 16-18-year-olds.

“Many of our courses have been specifically tailored to work alongside the club’s football training programme and provide such a superb opportunity for so many talented teenagers in the area.

“These courses, whether it be A-levels, BTEC’s in Sport or Construction courses, allow the boys to play football at a top level while gaining a qualification at the College.

“Many of the students have caught the eye of England College selectors, professional football clubs and even achieved football scholarships in the USA, while other students have gone onto study at University.”
