Wood are on the road again tomorrow for the eleventh Saturday in twelve, when they visit fellow Blue Square Bet South side Bromley in the F.A. Carlsberg Trophy First Round .    Cup draws have been harsh on us this Season and this game promises to be a very tough challenge indeed.

Bromley sit nineteenth in the Division, but looking deeper it shows a side that concede very few goals, having shipped just eighteen so far this Season.    Their perceived weakness in front of goal, having found the net on just fifteen occasions looks to have been swiftly countered this week by the double signing of strikers Louie Theophanous and Loan signing Joe Piggott.

It will be Blue Square Bet South “Manager of the Month” against Blue Square Bet South “Player of the Month” for October, as Theophanous hit the net seven times in four outings at his previous Club Staines Town to win the award, adding another in his next game. Piggott comes highly regarded from Charlton Athletic where he featured regularly for both the “Under 18s” and the Reserves.

Bromley have also showed they have a Cup pedigree to match ours this Season.    They also featured in the First Round of the F.A. Challenge Cup going down 3 – 0 at Division Two high fliers Fleetwood Town, after overcoming three very difficult earlier Round ties against Sutton United, Dover Athletic and Worcester City.

There is no doubting that Wood will have to be at their very best to get something from this tough challenge.

Bromley versus Boreham Wood – Saturday 24 November Kick off: 3.00pm.

The Stadium, Hayes Lane, Bromley. BR2 9EF.

Come on the Wood!
