Chelmsford City Preview
Monday 19th December 2011 – kick off 7.45pm
at Meadow Park, Boreham Wood.

Next Monday, 19th December 2011, Boreham Wood host in form Chelmsford City in the Blue Square Bet South, kick off 7.45pm.

The Clarets must be rueing their relatively slow start to the league campaign since they have showed on recent form that they have the ability to challenge for the automatic promotion place. However Chelmsford currently sit 4th in the Blue Square Bet South, in one of the play off places, having recorded 35 points from their 19 league games so far, with 9 wins, 8 draws and only 2 loses, whilst scoring 36 and conceding 17 in the process.

The Clarets sit 3rd in the leagues current form table, having won 4 and drew 2 from their last 6 league games, as well as beating league leaders Woking in the FA Trophy before exiting to Conference National side Bath City, and further going on an exciting FA Cup run which has seen them beat Tonbridge Angels, Lowestoft Town, Gloucester City and AFC Telford, before forcing Macclesfield Town to a replay last Saturday, which they unfortunately lost 1-0 last night, where an elusive tie against Premiership side Bolton Wanderers awaited the winners at home.

Chelmsford will  be looking to continue their good league form after their exit from the FA Trophy and FA Cup over the last week, however they travel to Hampshire to play Basingstoke Town on Saturday and Meadow Park to play ‘Wood’ on Monday night, so tough, open and exciting games await the Clarets over the next week.

‘Wood’ recently played Conference National Side Cambridge United in the FA Trophy but lost 1-0, however the spirit and quality that was shown in spells of the game suggested that ‘Wood’ could compete with Clubs at Blue Square Bet Premier level.

This Saturday ‘Wood’ also travel to Hampshire, but to face in form Eastleigh, so both Boreham Wood and Chelmsford City have tough fixtures before Monday’s encounter.

So come down and get behind the boys and hopefully ‘Wood’s current form can continue, as they look to challenge and compete in the top 10 teams in the Blue Square Bet South.

COME ON ‘THE WOOD’
