The Boreham Wood players and management staff are currently enjoying a tough training camp, whilst staying in the luxury Barnstaple Hotel in Devon. And the club are delighted to confirm the extension of our long-standing sponsorship deal with the Brend Hotel Group.

The Barnstaple Hotel in Devon is part of the Brend hotel Group and was the winner of AA’s ‘Hotel Group of the Year’ in 2015-2016.

The Brend Group are an amazing family built group of hotels, who through the friendship of John Brend, his family and our Chairman, have sponsored Boreham Wood for the last five-years.

In return, they receive brand exposure through advertising boards at Meadow Park and links on our website. While, Boreham Wood receive favourable rates when staying at their award-winning hotels.

The Barnstaple hotel is in the perfect location for our training camp in North Devon. It is on the doorstep of the fabulous golden sands of Croyde, Saunton and Woolacombe and just a 15-minute walk to the Barnstaple town centre.

It has proved to be the ideal location for our players and management as we foster camaraderie and team spirit.

As well as having two advertising boards at Meadow Park, the club are also happy to announce that the Brend Hotel group will sponsor the upcoming youth tournament at the end of July.

On their stay at the hotel, Boreham Wood manager Luke Garrard commented: “The hotel is superb, the facilities are phenomenal and the staff cannot do enough for us.

“The meet and greet every morning and lunchtime puts everyone in a good mood and they organise meals around our planned day, it works perfectly.

“In truth, every single member of staff goes above and beyond and the players have responded to that.”

The five-year partnership between the hotel and the football club is thanks to the long-standing friendship of Boreham Wood chairman Danny Hunter and Brend Group managing director John Brend.

On the partnership, John Brend stated: “We thoroughly enjoy having the Boreham Wood management team and playing staff stay at our hotel.

“In fact, many of our staff and guests were extremely excited to hear that a professional football team would be staying here and their behaviour and discipline has once again been impeccable.”

Club chairman Danny Hunter was equally pleased to continue the partnership with the family run Brend Hotel group.

He stated: “My friendship with John, Jo and the whole family goes back many, many years and he’s somebody that I’ve learnt so much from and looked up to for a long time now.

“The sponsorship, is in truth, just an added bonus for me, because the hotels and service that we receive, means that we’d stay at the hotels that John and the family own, all over Devon and Cornwall, anyway.”
