Boreham Wood FC’s Community Department hosted its annual Primary Schools Tournaments at our Meadow Park home over the past fortnight, and we’re delighted that they were a huge success once again.
Across the last fortnight over 170 children from Schools around Borehamwood and District area participated in our Year 4/5 and Year 5/6 Boys tournaments, as well as our newly introduced Year 5/6 Girls tournament. These tournaments were kindly sponsored by local estate agents Oliver & Akers, who donated new match shirts to all winning teams.
With some great football played and lots of exciting talent on show, Oakmere Primary School ran out both Year 4/5 Boys and Year 5/6 Girls winners, with the all conquering Shenley Primary School, who previously have won the Borehamwood District League and Cup, winning the Year 5/6 Boys Tournament to round off their already astonishing season.
We were joined by BWFC First Team players Ben Nunn and Scott Thomas to help hand out awards, as well as England C Manager Paul Fairclough who kindly assisted in handing out the awards. Additionally Paul presented our Community Scheme with a £20,000 cheque as part of our Community work through the Football Conference Trust.
