As our second season in the National league gets ever closer. The work behind the scenes gathers pace, as Gaffer Luke Garrard works hard to put together his squad..

The rebuilding process is now well under way and we have already seen four new faces arrive at the Wood.. Them being Braintree Town Captain Kenny Davis and Braintree defender/midfielder Matt Paine. Those two are ably supported by the signings of Woking wide man Bruno Andrade and Woking’s long standing and hugely respected team captain Matt Ricketts..

Talks to other potential signings are ongoing on a daily basis and things are going very well in this respect. Players have liked what they’ve seen when shown around our vastly improved facilities and we hope to have further news on players coming to Meadow Park in the not to distant future.

The aim for the 2016/17 season is simple. We are planning to make it the most successful season in our clubs history. Having had the experience of a heart stopping and nail biting finale, where we retained our league status on the last day of the season, we certainly do not plan on going through that again..

However that experience for the club, the chairman, the staff, the manager, the players and our supporters, will stand us all in good stead for our recruitment and the coming season..

As everyone knows transport, security, players and day time training, do not come cheap in the National League. So when you look at where we are in comparison to other clubs support in this league, it’s fair to say the perception is that we are punching massively above our weight..

That said, if we are going to progress and really belong amongst these “bigger” clubs, then we really are going to need the towns and the surrounding areas to support and back us next season..

To date we have sold just 71 Season Tickets, which when you compare that to the numbers that have been sold at Tranmere, over 1800.. At Maidstone over 1200.. At Sutton just over 1000 and at Wrexham over 1200.. It puts into perspective just how far behind our support base is compared to these clubs. It also shows the pressure the Chairman will be under to cover any shortfalls..

We have checked and re checked.. We have amongst the cheapest season ticket prices amongst all the National Premier clubs for next season and we would encourage, as many of our supporters and local residents to come, get involved with us and share our underdog journey..

Who knows where it might lead us?? Perhaps a top half finish?? Perhaps the Play-offs?? Or perhaps we can fulfil a dream of travelling down Wembley Way in the FA Trophy, with the whole town turning out??

So come on all you locals, help us to try and do a Leicester City.. Why? Because we’re much cheaper than the big London clubs, we’re cheaper than Watford, we’re cheaper than Barnet and because your money really will make a huge difference to what we’re trying to achieve..

Remember unlike the pro clubs, we do not receive anything from the FA. We receive nothing from the Sky TV deal other than a big bill to show sky sports in our bar.. We also get nothing from the football hierarchy for our academy’s and as such we have to rely on our sponsors, on our other income streams and on our Chairman and his company’s to compete..

Yet in spite of everything, we have still managed to progress our tiny club, all the way to the National League. With National league football now on every local supporters doorstep, we ask that you have a good think about what your football preference might be Premiership or local??

Perhaps you may decide that your local club is good value for money in comparison to the the pro clubs and you might decide to get behind your local club and help us achieve further success??

As such our early bird season ticket deadline, has been extended throughout June to allow as many of our local supporters as possible, to take advantage of the great savings on our matchday prices.
