Boreham Wood FC can announce that our fantastic 4G astro facility is reopening again as of Monday 6th July 2020.

Our pitch is one of the newest and most advanced artificial surfaces currently on the market; no expense has been spared to ensure that it will play as close to natural grass as you can get.

Loyal hirers and block bookers will be contacted by our facilities team in the near future, if you haven’t been contacted already.

If you are interested in hiring our astro pitch facility, either on a block or casual booking, please contact our facilities team by phone or email. Please call 020 8953 5097 (ask for Jodie) or email jodielillywhite1@msn.com.

As the government has eased lockdown rules in recent days and weeks, meaning our astro and bar can reopen to some degree to the public whilst following government guidelines, Chairman Danny Hunter has commented, “We are in equal measure both very excited but equally cautious as we enter the ‘new normal’ and the ‘let’s get ready’ stage in our recovery. Our site is being prepared to the very highest of safety standards, with all protocols and government guidelines being followed.

“Our hirers and our community have in truth been quite exceptional, as we ensured at lockdown that every one of them received full refunds. That great relationship and understanding of our present position is already being rewarded with everyone, it seems, wanting to come back to Meadow Park and we can’t wait to welcome them all.

“In truth, we will all need to be patient as we open up and as the guidelines begin to change and evolve. We have varied age groups and loyal hirers, and together we will all need to keep a very watchful eye on the safety rules involving group sizes and what is permissible and what’s not, as we move forward.

Hunter concluded, “It’s been a heartwarming, emotional and exciting start to my week and boy did I need it. I’ve already had great news in regard to our participation in this season’s play offs, I’m cautiously optimistic about our fantastic Astro facility opening in July, I’m hugely grateful that our ever-growing community led 500 club is already bedding in.

“Plus, have recently rolled out a discounted £149 season ticket offer to 500 of our Adults and OAP’s, while I’ve been told today that most of our loyal sponsors are fully behind us and are committing to us once again for next season. All those things save jobs, allow us to compete in the play offs, plan for the future and will mean our staff can quietly begin to return to work.

“So, though it’s been a monumental struggle to survive and although we mourn the loss of loved ones taken too early, I will do my best to embrace my social responsibility and to improve things where possible regarding all things local.

“I have tried to accept the recent challenges put in front of me and although it’s been a journey of worry, of tears, perhaps even of fear, for both our community and our Club. I’ve always even when things were dark and bleak, remembered that this is our town, that this is our community and It’s important that we found a way to survive.

“This is hopefully the new beginning on our road to recovery and I hope we show that we are all better for the experience. I’m honestly looking forward to seeing so many of you all, as you’re such a huge part of my life. My dream is simple, let’s put our little community football club, town and the Wood Army into the Football League for the first time in our history… Finally, can I say to our town and community, thank you, thank you, thank you for your care, support and of course your very kind messages”.

OUR CLUB. OUR TOWN. OUR COMMUNITY.
