alexscottArsenal Ladies all but secured their place in the last 16 of the Women’s Champions League after they thrashed Kazkh side Kairat 7-1 on Wednesday.

Goals from Kim Little, Danielle Carter and Jordan Nobbs gave the Gunners a comfortable half-time lead before efforts from Katie Chapman and Rachel Yankey put the tie beyond doubt in the first 10 minutes of the second half.

The hosts pulled a goal back in the 58th minute through Olga Aniskovtseva but Arsenal weren’t finished yet as Little added another before substitute Freda Ayisi completed the rout late on.

The Ladies will host the Kazakhstan side at Boreham Wood FC on Thursday 17 Oct (KO 2pm) for the second leg of their Round of 32 tie. Tickets can be picked up on the gate for £5 adults, £2.50 concessions.
