With recruitment for the 2019/20 PASE Academy well underway and having already trialled 283 young hopefuls for the next academic year, Wednesday evening saw another very successful trial at Boreham Wood’s Meadow Park.

The perspective student/scholars in fact showed great commitment from the outset, just by attending the trial; given the rain, thunder and lightening that greeted them on the evening.

This however did not deter our academy stars of the future though, as another 27 young footballers were put through their paces and showed great attitude, discipline and desire throughout the three hours.

The event opened with an introductory welcome speech from BWFC chairman Danny Hunter outlining what the PASE Academy offers as well as what is expected from each and every individual. While Barnet and Southgate College tutors and staff, were on hand to offer all education and course advice.

First-team manager Luke Garrard then took the trialists on a tour of Meadow Park showcasing the magnificent playing surface and facilities on offer to our students if they are accepted and if they progress into the FA Youth Cup squad or even the full squad.

After seeing the gym that’s available to the student athletes, the group was then split up into two teams to play an 11-a-side match on the club’s 5G surface. The standard was of a very high quality with many trialists catching the eyes of the coaches.

One attendee said the following: “Thank you guys for the wonderful experience, I had a great time and your facilities and staff were nothing short of brilliant.”

Please keep an eye on our website and social media as we will be releasing our next trial date very soon.
