Thank you to everyone who attended and made our Annual Youth Tournament a huge success once again.

The talent on show this year was some of the most amazing that we have ever seen, while the sporting spirit was unquestionable.

We hope that you all enjoyed it as much as we did. Read out how the teams got on below.

Under 10s

In a tightly fought group, Pro Formance A were able to come out on top and reach the semi-finals, narrowly edging out second placed Chars Youth. In group two, it was Bows Soccer Academy who led the pack, ahead of an impressive Pro Sports Academy side.

The winners and runners up of group two would both come out victorious in the semi-finals, as Pro Sports Academy and Bows Soccer Academy prepared to go head-to-head again.

It was impossible to separate the two teams, even after extra time, and they would need a penalty shootout to decide the winners. Pro Sports Academy held their nerve and smashed home the winning penalty to a rapturous round of applause from family and friends.

Under 13s

The ever-exciting Maccabi London Lions powered to the top of group one in the under 13s age group, ahead of a resilient Thurrock side, who although strong, couldn’t touch the Lions in the early group stages. Biggleswade won their group, with Stevenage Boro Junior Falcons coming in at a close second.

Despite coming second in their group Thurrock proved the stronger of the sides in the semi-finals and beat Biggleswade to reach the final. The also second placed Stevenage Boro Junior Falcons beat Maccabi in their semi-final, to ensure they had a chance of lifting the much-coveted trophy.

Just like in the under 10s final, it was an incredibly close contest and the two teams would need a penalty shootout to separate them.

Thurrock held their nerves and secured the win over Stevenage Boro Junior Falcons and the players all chased after the penalty shootout hero, leaping on the goalkeeper, who would later be named player of the tournament.
