Boreham Wood FC and the renowned BW PASE Academy are absolutely thrilled to announce that, for the 2020/21 season, we will be expanding our outreach and taking our first steps into the women’s game, with the formation of a new women’s section, which we will brand as the Boreham Wood Belles.

As a community based football club, we pride ourselves on diversity and inclusion for all amongst our core values. As such as a club we are very pleased to have taken the decision to progress this initiative, as in truth it has been on our radar for a number of years now.

As football fans both near and far are aware, we have made huge progress both on and off the pitch as a club over the last decade, we now consider ourselves to be a forward thinking and progressive football club within the non-league family.

This announcement we feel, is the first step in what we hope moving forward, will develop into a fully-fledged and fully equipped women’s structure within our football academy and sports/education programme in the coming years. So as of next season, we are moving forward with a new women’s section to our acclaimed BW PASE Academy.

We will tailor make bespoke training programmes for aspirational young women between the ages of 16-18 years old, who want to couple our fantastic further education opportunities and with a proven professional football club.

Our trial schedule has now been set, with our first ever girl’s trial and assessment day, set to take place on Tuesday 18th February with a 12.30pm registration. This is the first trial of its kind for us and it will take place entirely onsite here at Boreham Wood FC.

The trial will involve a meet and greet, then showing potential scholars what our BW PASE Academy has to offer. We’ll be showing you bespoke PUMA training kits and match day kits, as well as you and your parents/guardians around our Meadow Park home.

After we have introduced ourselves formally, you will then take part in a footballing trial/assessment which will be overseen by the Boreham Wood FC First Team Manager Luke Garrard, our Academy Director Cameron Mawer and former Arsenal Ladies legendary Manager Mr. Vic Akers OBE.

Luke, Cameron and Vic, will also be joined by our team of analysts and our UEFA qualified coaches. After that we invite you to share a free lunch with the staff and coaches before your day with us is finished.

Please note: All our Students education and training programmes run between Monday to Friday each week and your match days are always on a Wednesday. As such you will still be encouraged to play for your existing club teams at the weekend and you will have a variety of education courses to choose from.

If accepted our sports/education programme is completely FREE. This includes you receiving your FREE PUMA training kit (terms and conditions apply), you also receive a FREE BWFC season ticket, discounted meal card and possible assisted travel.

Although our women’s section of the club is still in its early stages of development, our staff and management have a wealth of experience and knowledge, as our renowned BW PASE Academy has been built over the last 20 years and is now the largest and most successful sports/education programme of its kind anywhere in the United Kingdom.

We will work hard with you in creating and building a successful education and sports structure, both on and off the pitch. We will work hard with you in building successful relationships and we have long standing and important contacts within the highest echelons of the women’s game.

This will include consultation with our very good friends and partners in the Arsenal Women who, as you know, are the current WSL Champions and play all their home games here at Meadow Park. Remember we will be working for you during these early developmental stages and we will consult with you throughout this process.

Also, our current men’s First Team Assistant Manager is the legendary ex-Arsenal Women’s Manager in Mr. Vic Akers OBE, who won 11 FA Women’s Premier League championships, won 9 FA Women’s FA Cup titles, won 10 FA Women’s Premier League Cup winners medals and won 5 FA Women’s Charity Shields, as well as managing the Arsenal Women to become the ONLY UEFA Women’s Cup winners from the UK in history back in 2005/06.

So, if any of this has excited you or sparked any interest, please contact our PASE Academy department on 020 8953 5716 or pase_bwfc@hotmail.co.uk. Alternatively to register for our upcoming trial day, please click here.
