Boreham Wood FC are delighted to confirm the loan signing of midfielder, Adam May from Portsmouth until the end if the season

Adam progressed through the Portsmouth Academy and has 15 first team games to his name to date. Adam though is no stranger to the National League having had previous successful loan spells with both Sutton United and Aldershot Town.

May was part of the Sutton United side that progressed to the 4th Round of the FA Cup, beating  previous FA Cup winners AFC Wimbledon and Leeds United before bowing out to Premier League giants Arsenal. He then spent the first part of this season on loan at League Two table toppers Swindon Town, making 12 appearances in all competitions scoring once.

On securing the midfielder gaffer Luke Garrard said, “Adam is a player we have kept a very close eye on over the last year, following his successful loans both at Sutton United and Aldershot Town.”

Garrard continued, “He will bring great knowledge of the level, even though he still only 22. He comes into a group that is very positive and we hope he will aid us in getting to where we want to get to. He was involved in the session today and got to know the squad, and I honestly believe he will be a very good addition.

“He has great ability when in possession of the football, will go box-to-box, and will give us great energy and legs especially playing in the manner we do with a high intensity. He will go straight into the squad against his previous club Aldershot.” Garrard concluded.

Welcome to Meadow Park, Adam!
