Open letter from Chairman Danny Hunter
Dear Wood Army,
Following a very productive period of consultation with our Supporter Liaison Officer Grant Morris and our Head of Ticketing Loretta Brown, plus our loyal season ticket holders and those on our community database, I’m delighted to announce our season ticket prices for the 2023/24 season, and state publicly that should we miraculously achieve a play-off place and then produce the miracle of miracles to finally win them, then this price would remain in place if we were in the EFL.
Firstly, can I say for those of you who participated in the consultation process, and there was over 500 of you, I would like to thank you for your fairness, understanding and intelligence in guiding us on our season ticket price structure for the 2023/24 season.
Following our own internal review regarding your consultation, we can confirm that our finalised season ticket prices will also include FREE entry into our annual Arsenal XI pre-season friendly in July, as well as a FREE first team replica shirt – to be revealed soon… This means on top of those FREE extras, adults can still watch the Wood in action for as little as £10.00 a game, under 20’s for just £6.95 a game, under 16’s for just £4.78 and under 12’s for just £2.17 a game.
Despite there being a slight increase on the previous seasons, we still feel that these prices represent fantastic value for money and we’re sure they will again be amongst the cheapest, if not the cheapest, within the division. Additionally as I’ve stated above, any adult, under 20, under 16 and under 12 that purchases a season ticket in full before June 30th will also receive a FREE 2023/24 season replica shirt (RRP £49.00) and will gain FREE entry into our Arsenal XI pre-season friendly this July.
For those of you and surprisingly it’s not that many, who wish to spread your payments throughout the season, we are delighted to offer this option once again to our supporters who are feeling the pinch, especially amidst the current cost of living crisis.
This option will allow those season ticket holders the option to spread the cost of their season ticket over 8 months. An initial payment would be taken by June 1st, followed by 7 monthly payments which will be taken on the same day of each month thereafter, all 8 payments will be equal. Please note: Unfortunately, this payment method will mean you will not receive a FREE replica shirt and FREE entry into our Arsenal XI pre-season friendly game.
I fully appreciate that it is impossible to please everyone in terms of the feedback you’ve given. However, I do hope you feel we’ve listened to the majority of you and you agree that these prices are very fair and more than competitive for the division in which we play in. We hope you will all once again continue to utilise our facility in every aspect and that you get behind Luke Garrard and the dressing room as the season draws to a close.
For context and put simply in monetary terms, season ticket sales represent around 10% of the first team budget, with matchday sales possibly covering another 15%. All of which means that the club and myself have to find the remaining 75% or shortfall, not just to remain solvent but to find that little bit more so we can remain competitive with the likes of Wrexham, Notts County, Chesterfield, Oldham, Southend United and York City to name just a few.

Last season we had a lot of applicants for FREE season tickets, which we processed in good faith. We have kept these individuals informed on everything all season whether it was club news, FA Cup updates etc. So many of those applicants were hugely appreciative of our offers, however in equal measure, some of those who took up our FREE season ticket offers have failed to collect their tickets or even attend a single game here at Meadow Park.
As such, we feel it’s appropriate to add a small admin fee to these FREE categories to firstly deter some time wasters and those who failed to turn up even once, and secondly to deter certain supporters who live out of the area, who possibly support another team and who attended just one game this season and tried to get in the away fans turnstiles (which has happened on a number of occasions.)
Finally, as always, can I say thank you all for your support, thank you for your loyalty and once again, as we enter the business end of the season, remind everyone we have enjoyed another FA Cup run together and are once again competitive with the division’s big guns as we enter the run in.

Our friendly staff though can process your season ticket applications however, please ensure you have all your information to hand as season ticket applications cannot be completed until all information is received. Payments can only be made by credit or debit cards.
