Boreham Wood FC held their first week of Easter trials for the BW PASE Academy, and although it was different to every other year with COVID-19 protocols and social distancing in place, as anticipated they were still a resounding success!
With a total of five trial dates spread across two weeks and the recent ease in lockdown restrictions, there was a slight uncertainty if we would receive the same turn out as before the pandemic… However, we were not disappointed with nearly 200 attendees across the first two trial days, and three more days to complete… It is safe to say that the BW PASE Academy is again looking like a popular destination for budding footballers between the ages of 16-18 years old for the 2021/22 campaign.
The trial was kicked off in typical fashion as Club Chairman and Academy founder Danny Hunter addressed the trialists before Boreham Wood FC First Team Manager Luke Garrard and Academy Head Coach Connor Smith followed up with a tour of our 4,000 capacity Stadium which encloses a £1 million state of the art DESSO grassmaster pitch, as well as our Premier League standard changing room, our onsite gymnasium and 4G training pitch that all BW PASE Academy students will use heavily during their time at Meadow Park.
Once our Academy staff had introduced prospective Academy players to what the BW PASE Academy can offer them, attention quickly turned to our trialists and it was their opportunity to show our watchful coaches exactly what they can do…
Before the trialists departed after a busy day, the received a packed lunch and an Academy prospectus to show to their parents, carers, guardians, loved ones and friends what the BW PASE Academy can offer them, as understandably family members and those close to them will play a big part in their next decision and if that involved the BW PASE Academy.
