Tonight was our Chairman Danny Hunter’s first home match since reaching the incredible milestone of 1,000 games at the helm of BWFC. As such, Craig Draycott, the club’s media and communications manager, produced a commemorative match day programme for this evening’s game against Maidenhead United and it is available to download for free, on the link below.

We also spoke to the Chairman about what he thought was his greatest achievement over the years. The Chairman felt that it was either the promotion play-off win over Whitehawk, or possibly, winning the fight against relegation, on the last day of the season two years ago, when the whole world had written us off.

Craig Draycott has also trawled through the interview archives and he thinks that the Chairman’s character is best summed up in a heartfelt interview that he gave to Grant Morris on BWTV. The interview was after losing to Southport two years ago, when we needed to win our last three games to stay up, and to the world, we looked doomed to relegation.

It was quite an interview and it’s well worth another view, because we feel it gives you an insight into a man whose passion, and refusal to admit defeat, has lasted 19 years at the helm here at BWFC and has racked up over 1,000 games in the process.

We hope Chairman, that you take the time to enjoy the Southport interview again, and on behalf of everyone connected with our football club – can we thank you for your loyalty, hard work, vision and service.
