Former Boreham Wood FC player and Community Manager, now Sporting Director, Charlie has a deep connection with Borehamwood, having been brought up in the town and following the club from the age of 6.

 

Growing up in Borehamwood, Charlie benefitted from the club’s community programmes spending most school holidays on the club’s well-known soccer courses, whilst years later also joining the renowned Sports/Education programme, namely the BW PASE Academy, for higher education to study A-Levels, before winning a full scholarship to play soccer in the United States at American University in Washington, DC.

 

After almost six years stateside studying Accounting and Finance at American University world famous business school, the Kogod School of Business, Charlie returned to the UK in the summer of 2018 after graduating with a first-class degree with honours, and a year later returned to the club to become its first ever CEO. After five-years in the position, in January 2024, Charlie made an internal lateral movement within the club’s leadership structure, transitioning from to CEO to become the club’s first ever Sporting Director.
