Adi Yussuf joins the Wood on loan from League One outfit Blackpool and bolsters Luke Garrard’s squad with bags of National League experience having previously featured for both Barrow and Solihull Moors.
After coming through the youth ranks at Leicester City, Yussuf failed to make a first team appearance. Yussuf then signed a one-year loan deal at Burton Albion after a successful trial period. He scored his first goal for the club on the 29th of October 2015 but then struggled for first team minutes meaning his next goal would come 10 months later against Sheffield United in the League Cup.
After spells at Lincoln City, and then on loan to Gainsborough Trinity, Harrogate Town and Histon, Yussuf joined National League North side Oxford City. Yussuf had a successful time at Oxford where he netted 27 times in 39 appearances.
After his enjoyable time at Oxford, Yussuf went on to play for Mansfield Town, Crawley Town, Grimsby Town, and Barrow, but experienced frustrating spells at these clubs as he couldn’t get a run of permanent first team game time. This frustrating period of his career ended when he signed for Solihull Moors in January 2018. He started as he meant to go on as he scored a brace in two minutes on his debut against Dagenham and Redbridge.
Yussuf went on to have a successful time at Solihull Moors featuring 57 times for the club netting 19 times. His impressive performances in the National League attracted attention from several Football League clubs and it was Blackpool who won the signature of the Forward as he signed on a two year deal which would see him go back on loan to the Moors until January 2020, he then signed for the Wood on loan until the end of the season.
