Balanta arrived at Meadow Park in the Summer of 2016, originally on a trialist basis, he signed permanently with the club following a string of impressive performances throughout pre-Season and would also become a coach in the Wood’s PASE Academy
Balanta began his career at Queens Park Rangers, making his Hoops debut at the age of 17 against Crystal Palace on December 4, 2007, replacing Ben Sahar. Over a seven-year period at Loftus Road, Balanta would struggle to hold down a regular place in the side, limiting his appearances for the West London side to 25 games over that time, scoring twice.
However, Àngelo took full advantage of the loan system, with spells at Wycombe Wanderers (11 appearances, three goals), MK Dons (50 appearances, 11 goals) and Yeovil Town (six appearances), before signing permanently at Bristol Rovers in 2014.
Balanta then swapped Bristol for Carlisle United in the 2015/16 season, before an impressive trial at Meadow Park saw him sign for Boreham Wood.
Balanta made his debut for the Wood in a 1-0 victory over Forest Green Rovers on the opening game of the 2016/17 season.
