Form Guide

The Wood beat Gateshead 2-1 at home in the last round of fixtures, to make it three league wins on the bounce.

Bruno Andrade netted a brace in the win, including an unorthodox overhead kick in the first half.

Those three wins in a row have featured seven goals for, and just one against, an impressive return from Garrard’s side.

The Wood remain in sixth place in the National League but have a game in hand on some of their rivals and sit just two points off second.

Managed by Jay Saunders, Maidstone currently sit 17th in the table on 39-points.

The Stones have failed to win in their previous five league matches, losing to Barrow last time out.

From the Dugout – Luke Garrard

“Maidstone lost to Barrow on Saturday and they are going to want a reaction. They have recruited ever so well in the last week, to bring in the likes of Dean Beckwith, Will De Havilland, our boy Blair Turgott and Ross Lafayette, so he has bolstered his squad.

“It is about what we do, we like it under the lights, we like a midweek and I feel that there is an added incentive, for what reason I don’t know.

“Especially with this pitch, it is going to play lovely, and yeah we are fully focused come training on Monday.

“We have got to put a performance on to warrant three points come Tuesday evening.

“We can’t affect what goes on at Aldershot, Macclesfield, Tranmere, Bromley, we have got to control the controllable and it is about us winning games and Saturday we done that.”
