Boreham Woods youngsters march on in the FA Youth cup with a narrow 1-0 home win over a very hard working Leverstock Green team.

In a game that Boreham Woods youngsters dominated in the main, it took a well worked free kick to break the deadlock in the 22nd minute. The free kick was taken by second year scholar Kyle Roberts, knocked down by Ben Goodliffe and fell beautifully to the improving Alfie Barker, to put the home side ahead with a decent strike from eight yards.

Wood took that 1-0 lead into half time break but a mixture of poor finishing and an inspired away goalkeeping display from the Leverstock keeper after the break, meant this pulsating cup tie went to the wire.

Young Wood will now face Harefield Utd away in the next round with the date still to be agreed.
