Connor Johnson of Wolverhampton Wanderers

With our young Academy captain Ben Goodliffe joining Wolverhampton Wanderers last week on a two and a half year deal. Boreham Wood though had moved quickly before deadline day last Thursday, to sign defender Connor Johnson on loan from Wolves for the remainder of the season.

The 19 year old defender signed his first professional deal last summer but had originally began his career with Northampton Town. He was then taken on as an apprentice at Molyneaux at just 15, where he has developed through to the under 23 squad.

Connor has made 5 appearances for Wolves U23 in the new Football League Trophy format this season and is well thought of by the Championship club.

On securing cover for his defence unit for the final month of the season, gaffer Luke Garrard said “With young Goody going up to Wolves to acclimatise to his move in the next five weeks or so and with the limited time now available for him to finish off his studies. It meant I needed a bit of extra cover to keep us strong for the run in. As such I now have Connor to call upon, so it’s great news for us and I can only thank the Wolves sporting director Kevin Thelwell and Connor himself for agreeing to the loan at short notice”.
