Monday saw the club provide England College’s with three Internationals against Kagoshima, a side currently over from Japan at Cobham the home Chelseas high tech training facility.

Once again it was Boreham Woods young centre half Ben Goodliffe, who captained the side. He along with Wood goalkeeper Fred Burbidge and Sorba Thomas who also made the starting line up, put in excellent performances and can be very content with their days work.

Goodliffe remarkably for a centre half, scored his 17th goal of what is already an impressive season in all competitions. But this 6-2 victory also saw Woods Sorba Thomas assist with 3 of the goals, while Wood keeper Burbidge kept a clean sheet, with an assured performance in regards to his 45 minutes on the pitch.

The Japanese side who play in their countries third tier, were technically excellent, as you would expect and gave the England boys a different type of challenge to the previous games against England schools and Chelsea.

England colleges record this season of two wins and a draw for the boys, shows how promising a start its been to there fledgling international careers. Next up are Wales in a two legged game on Thursday, 2nd February and, we will keep you updated on how the boys get on.
